Key Mechanics

Conversion

When a piece reaches the opposite side, it immediately turns around and changes speed.

Speed changes: 1→3, 2→2, 3→1

Before conversion
After conversion

Jumping

When you land on an opponent's piece, it sends them back and you advance 1 space. If another opponent piece is there, repeat: send back, advance 1. Continue until you reach an empty space.

Send-back destination: Pieces on their first trip return to starting line. Pieces on their return trip go back to the conversion line.

Strategy Tips

Slow Pace

Don't rush with fast pieces—they are powerful defenders

1's Are Key

Protect your 1-speed pieces, attack opponent's 1's

Zugzwang Delusion

Being captured isn't always bad—making your opponent advance reduces their choices

Ways of Winning

There are two general strategies to win Squadro in the late game:

Control

Block or hinder opponent pieces to limit their options, forcing them into unfavorable positions.

Race

Repeatedly advance with pieces that have fewer moves remaining, winning by speed regardless of opponent choices.
